About The Artist
Having completed a foundation degree in Art & Design from the University of Ulster, Belfast. I transitioned to The University of Reading and graduated with my Bachelors in Fine Art where my love of oil painting flourished.
My work evokes depth between the seen and unseen, embodying a dark and ethereal presence. Whether through portraiture or forested landscapes, I seek to capture emotions that feel both otherworldly and deeply human.
I am drawn to the suggestive and evocative presence of visible brushstrokes, whilst the use of unblended colours applied straight from the tube, create raw and immediate textures that echo the emotional weight of each piece.
I work through different subject matters that remain bound by a sense of darkness and a quiet intensity that creates an atmosphere in each piece.
Faces emerge from abstraction while landscapes dissolve into gestures of colour and texture. The tension I create between colour and form, light and shadow, reflects the emotional weight of my work, creating scenes both luminous and haunting.
